About this website and Swedish Hoops, QPR-fans of Scandinavia
|
This website
This website was launched by Fredrik Montgomery and Simon Ståål beginning of November 2002 and it is a
meeting point for all QPR-fans of Scandinavia. Rangers have always had a lot of fans in Sweden, Norway and
Denmark and even if the official supporter’s club was closed down many years ago, the interest for the club
is still on a high level. |
 |
English football has always been in the Scandinavians heart due to the Saturday-afternoon live transmission
"Tipsextra" which always contained a game from the 1st or the 2nd Division. The community "Svenska Fans" is
a collection of websites made by supporters of different Swedish and foreign football- and icehockey teams.
Swedish Hoops
There is no longer an official Swedish supporter's club but the activity is still high and Scandinavians are regularly
visiting Loftus Road for the games. During the Easter 2003 (Brentford away, Notts County home), a group of 15
supporters under the name of Swedish Hoops travelled to London, they also formed a football team that played
against one of the best supporter teams in England, Accrington Stanley Bowles. The Swedes managed to draw after
an exciting game. On the picture below, both teams are united after the final whistle.

The next organised trip will be in November this year, for the Sheffield Wednesday game. Besides the England-travels
, pub evenings are organised when Rangers can be seen on Sky. During the season 03-04, Swedish Hoops will
also sponsor the section "Real Fans, Real Football" in the official match programme. The picture above shows
our meeting with QPR-legend Stanley Bowles after the first game of the season 2003-2004. |
The ambassador Richard Lloyd, a k a Lloydy is the official QPR-ambassador of Sweden. He regularly
reports back about what's happening with the club and the team and also writes match-reports from the games
to this site, some of them can be found here! |
