| Johnny’s (jeb1968) Guide to Pubs & Grub
For those of us who like and drink and a feed on match day, listed below are some of the options available. Pubs and beer: |
The Southbank:
This pub is located on Trent Bridge and is a sports bar. Large TV
screens everywhere always showing a good mixture of sporting
programmes. A good variety of beers and a decent menu. The Big
Breakfast is superb, as many TF members will testify to! Another
attraction of this bar is the landlords ability to come up with ‘’sexy
signings’’ year after year for his bar staff!!!!! On match day, there
are bouncers on the door and ID will be asked for if you don’t look old
enough – therefore, no kids allowed. |
Casa:
This pub can be found on the city side of the river Trent. Fairly
sparse inside, but on a nice day its advantage is a large outdoor
seating area, so convenient if you are bringing the kids. Good
selection of beers. As this pub is on route from the station to the
ground, away supporters can also be found in there. After a pint or two
in Casa, the walk across Trent Bridge to the City Ground is always a
great view and a sense of pride |

The Stratford Haven:
|
Trent Bridge Inn:
The world renowned Trent Bridge Inn! Situated opposite County Hall
and Trent Bridge. A large pub with good size rooms, although as with
many pubs on matchday, it does get very busy. Good selection of beers
and good bar menu. There is also a cash machine inside the pub – handy
for when the one at the City Ground has run out of money! There are
bouncers on matchday and it is primarily Forest fans that use this pub. |
The Hubble:
|
Amici Bar:
|
Sportsmans:
This club can be found right outside the gates to the City Ground.
It operates a membership scheme, but non-members can sometimes be
admitted for £1.00 if attending with a member. This club is packed with
Forest pictures and memorabilia. As it is run as a club the beer prices
are a lot cheaper than the other pubs. Also has a big screen for live
sporting events. |
Britannia Rowing Club:
|
Food: |
|
Bridgford Fish Bar:
|
|
McDonalds:
|
Pappas Restaurant:
|
Bombay:
|
Teresa’s
Teresa’s Sandwich Bar – opposite the Hubble Bar, just up from the
club shop. Been around for years this one – great selection of
sandwiches and soft drinks. Ideal if your short of time. Take-away
only. |
|
Obviously there are more pubs and eating places within the vicinity of the City Ground, but these are the ones I have visited over the last 30 years. I hope they are of some use, particularly to those supporters who travel from afar. Maybe see some of you for a beer or 5! All the best, Johnny. Publicerad i samråd med Johnny |
